RELIGION

-The definition of religion is a controversial and complicated subject in religious studies, with scholars failing to agree on any one definition. According to Dictionary.com, it is "a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects." Next, I'll provide a couple of less known and quite alternative definitions. In "Human Personality" (London 1903), Dr. Leuba defines "religion" as "The sane and normal response of the human spirit to all that we know of cosmic law." James Martineau, in his "A Study of Religion," states that religion is "the belief in an everliving (sic) God, that is, in a Divine Mind and Will ruling the Universe and holding moral relations with mankind." So, for some, a good definition of religion might be in accordance with an alternative vision about god, such as "The All," Consciousness, or "The Source." These visions allude to a purer version of religion itself, which doesn't worship any figure or personality but all that is... I personally recommend the lectures on Natural Law and "the Creator of the Universe" by Mark Passio.
